Skin lightening creams? (But they’re cheap as garri!)

We just received a crazy offer on tubes of skin lightening cream, selling to our wholesalers at N150 per tube. These are ridiculously profitable margins. However, there’s always a catch:

a.) The products are prohibited from being sold in Europe (for reasons best known to the sellers)

b.) The products have an expiry date of July 2012.

Guess what our answer was?

Dear Supplier,

NO. We will not import any such products into Nigeria. We refuse to make people pay for sub-standard products that have an overall negative effect on their health – in the name of money. No way. We have enough problems as it stands.

Single line trials

In the near future, we will be trialling some single line offers. Single line offers are selected products which we discount heavily and retail in singles, thus making them available to retail customers at wholesale prices. For eample, instead of selling 10 perfume gift sets for N50,000 plus delivery, we would decide to sell them singly at N5,000 each. You would be able to pick these up from our shop at Navy town Ojo, or have them delivered to you within Lagos.

What’s the catch? The catch is that there will be no further discounts on the said items, regardless of quantity. This will be to ensure that there are equal opportunities for our retail customers to also benefit from our products and services occasionally.

Our wholesale customers and newsletter subscribers still deserve our loyalty however, and will gain from discounted delivery deals.
